Improving HO Track/Car Staging Performance
Improving HO Track/Car Staging Performance:

It has come to my attention, and I know from my own experience, that many of our HO customers are having difficulty "nudging" up to the starting line without stalling. Manually pushing the cars forward takes away from the staging strategy (staging first, staging second, late staging, early staging, etc).

This blog will address that issue.

Here are four ways to improve car/track performance with regards to moving up to the line in intervals without stalling. Most of these tips will improve over all performance as well.

Install your sensor assembly on, or next to the terminal piece. This eliminates any DC line loss due to Track connections.

I cannot stress enough the importance of keeping your track clean. Oxidation can occur in just a few hours. Clean track with dry emery cloth especially in the pre-stage and staged areas.

If your car is still "sticking" change the pick-up shoes, even if they don't look worn. What happens is they bend from crash impacts, thus reducing the contact surface of the shoe with both the track rails and the cars brush posts.

Lastly, it's also a good idea to invest in Silver Plated Pick-up Shoes.

Thanks for reading.
